I’m delighted to share Yannick and Charlotte’s engagement session from last October in the Aiguille Rouge massif. A sunrise engagement session in Chamonix, filled with the magic that makes this valley so special.
The Aiguilles Rouge Massif is one of the most iconic mountain ranges in the Chamonix Valley, offering the perfect setting for powerful and intimate couple photos.
The Alps may be vast, but Chamonix and its valley stand out as one of the best places for an engagement shoot if you’re looking for authentic mountain photos. With its forested valley, snow-capped peaks, almost lunar landscapes, alpine meadows, and breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, it feels like a real-life fairytale.
You can choose to have your couple photos taken in the village, surrounded by mountains and a cup of hot chocolate, or, like Charlotte and Yannick, embrace adventure with a sunrise session in the mountains. Optimistic about the October weather, I showed up in a T-shirt, but the 2-degree alpine chill quickly put me in my place. Luckily, these two adventurers were better prepared than I was, and thanks to Charlotte, I managed to get through the session in a makeshift Patagonian crop top. The adventure began with a gentle walk through the forest before leading us to breathtaking scenery.
The Chamonix Valley is renowned for its striking natural beauty and breathtaking seasonal light. Each season offers a picture-perfect backdrop for your couple’s session: in summer and spring, blooming alpine meadows add a peaceful, romantic touch; in winter, snow-covered landscapes create a soft, serene atmosphere; and in autumn, warm hues paint the forests and rivers with a poetic charm.
If, like Charlotte and Yannick, you’ve decided to embrace adventure and capture stunning couple photos, here are a few tips:
If you’re thinking of having your couple’s photo shoot in the mountains, feel free to explore the experience I offer. Whether in Chamonix or elsewhere, the Alps are full of incredible landscapes and surprises. As a photographer, I love exploring new places and sharing breathtaking locations for your engagement sessions.
